With long, lovely locks of gold, Rapunzel is a pretty young girl who has been locked away in a tower by her supposed "mother", Gothel.  Using Rapunzel for the magical abilities her hair possesses, Gothel kidnapped Rapunzel when she was a baby and has kept her from her family - the king and queen - for eighteen years.  The lovely young girl spends all of her time alone with her pet chameleon, Pascal.  Rapunzel longs to see the outside world, and she gets her wish when she meets Flynn Ryder.  Having stolen a tiara from the castle, Flynn happens upon the tower where Rapunzel lives.  When she hides the tiara from Flynn, Rapunzel persuades him to take her to see the kingdom's lights in return for the tiara.  Their journey to the kingdom takes them on a thrilling adventure followed by Rapunzel's discovery that she is the long-lost princess of the king and queen.
