Making his big screen debut in "Mickey's Revue" in 1932,
Goofy (formerly known as Dippy Dawg) came onto the
Disney scene. Goofy is a good-natured soul,
although he's not too bright. But it's his
authentic laugh that has become his character's trait.
Although Goofy is a dog, he was created a a human
character; unlike Pluto who's Mickey Mouse's pet dog.
Goofy walks upright and was given a human voice.
Goofy has appeared in many cartoons with his pals Mickey
Mouse and Donald Duck, but he's also had his share of
his own cartoons. He's best known for his series
of "How To" cartoons.
In the
1990's, Goofy was reintroduced with the creation of
Disney's Goof Troop, where Goofy was a single father
raising his son, Max. And...in 1995, Goofy even
got his own movie called, what else, "A Goofy Movie"!
