Making his big screen debut in "Mickey's Revue" in 1932, Goofy (formerly known as Dippy Dawg) came onto the Disney scene.  Goofy is a good-natured soul, although he's not too bright.  But it's his authentic laugh that has become his character's trait.

Although Goofy is a dog, he was created a a human character; unlike Pluto who's Mickey Mouse's pet dog.  Goofy walks upright and was given a human voice.  Goofy has appeared in many cartoons with his pals Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, but he's also had his share of his own cartoons.  He's best known for his series of "How To" cartoons.

In the 1990's, Goofy was reintroduced with the creation of Disney's Goof Troop, where Goofy was a single father raising his son, Max.  And...in 1995, Goofy even got his own movie called, what else, "A Goofy Movie"!

Goofy's voice talents are courtesy of...

Pinto Colvig (1932-1938; 1944-1965 (his death in 1967)

George Johnson (1939-1943)

Bob Jackman (1951)

Hal Smith (1983)

Tony Pope (1988)

Will Ryan

Bill Farmer (1986-present)

Goofy's favorites sayings are...

"Gawrsh!"

"Well, whaddya know..."

"A-hyuck!"

"Huh?"
